1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use the Service.
2. Accounts
To access most features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Maintain the security of your password and accept responsibility for all activity under your account.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
- Not share your account credentials with any third party.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or remove content at our sole discretion.
3. Payments & Refunds
Billing
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All fees are in US dollars and are non-refundable except as described below. You authorise DocsPilot to charge your payment method for all fees incurred.
Free Tier
DocsPilot offers a free tier with limited features. We may modify, limit, or discontinue the free tier at any time with 30 days' notice.
Refund Policy
If you are unsatisfied within the first 14 days of a paid plan, contact us at billing@docspilot.dev for a full refund. After 14 days, refunds are issued at our discretion for extenuating circumstances. Annual plan subscribers may request a pro-rated refund for unused months within 30 days of renewal.
Price Changes
We may change our pricing at any time. We will give you at least 30 days' advance notice before any price increase takes effect.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
- Upload, transmit, or distribute malicious code, viruses, or harmful software.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure.
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise harvest data from the Service without our written consent.
- Use the Service to generate, store, or transmit content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or abusive.
- Use the Service in a manner that could impair its performance or availability for other users.
Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate account termination without refund.
5. Intellectual Property
DocsPilot's IP: The Service, including its software, design, logos, and content, is owned by DocsPilot and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
Your content: You retain ownership of all code, repositories, and content you connect to the Service. By connecting your repositories, you grant DocsPilot a limited, non-exclusive licence to access and process that content solely to provide the Service.
Generated documentation: Documentation generated by DocsPilot from your repositories is owned by you. We claim no ownership over your generated output.
6. Confidentiality
Each party agrees to keep the other's Confidential Information (including source code, business plans, and product roadmaps) strictly confidential and not to disclose it to third parties, except as required by law or with prior written consent. This obligation survives termination of these Terms for 3 years.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. DOCSPILOT DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DOCSPILOT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY.
IN NO EVENT SHALL DOCSPILOT'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO DOCSPILOT IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $100.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DocsPilot and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
10. Termination
By you: You may terminate your account at any time by going to account settings. Termination stops future billing but does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing period (except as described in Section 3).
By us: We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or at our sole discretion with 30 days' written notice (or immediately for material violations or illegal activity).
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will make your data available for export for 30 days following termination, after which it will be deleted.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wilmington, Delaware.
For users in the European Union, nothing in these Terms affects your rights under applicable EU law.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days' notice via email or a prominent in-product notification. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with the new Terms, you may terminate your account before the effective date.
